Renting a Car for Eid in Karachi

By RentOnUs Team · 13 September 2026

Why Eid is different

Most of the year, you can book a car in Karachi a day or two ahead and get roughly what you wanted. Eid does not work that way.

Three things happen at once. Families who normally take two cars want one large vehicle. People who never rent a car all year rent one to visit relatives. And a share of the city’s drivers are themselves on holiday, so the supply of cars with drivers tightens exactly when demand peaks.

The result is not usually a price rise. It is that the vehicle you wanted is already booked, and you end up in something larger and more expensive than you planned.

What books out first

In rough order:

  1. Seven seaters. The Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Prado at PKR 15,000, and the Honda BR-V at PKR 7,000. Family travel is the whole story of Eid, and these go three to four weeks out.
  2. Group vehicles. The HiAce grand cabin at PKR 10,000 and the Coaster at PKR 15,000, booked by extended families travelling together.
  3. Entry price sedans. The Suzuki Alto at PKR 4,000 and the Corolla GLi and Honda City at PKR 5,000. These have the most units, so they last longest, but the last few go in the final week.
  4. Luxury. The Mercedes C180 and Audi A6 hold availability longer, because Eid demand skews practical rather than premium.

When to book

Booking windowWhat you can expect
Six weeks outAny vehicle, any dates. Choose freely.
Three to four weeksMost of the fleet. Seven seaters are thinning.
Two weeksSedans and some SUVs. Specific models not guaranteed.
Final weekWhatever is left. Usually larger and dearer than planned.

If your plans are firm, book at three to four weeks. If you need a specific vehicle, six.

Book the holiday, not the day

The single most common mistake is booking day by day through Eid.

Two problems. You are not guaranteed the same car or the same driver across days, so you re explain your plans every morning. And the total comes to more than a multi day booking would have.

A continuous booking across the holiday keeps one vehicle and one driver, and the daily rate comes down. If you need a car for a week or more, look at monthly car rental, which is priced across 26 working days and often works out cheaper than a long daily booking.

Outstation over Eid

Plenty of families leave Karachi for the holiday. If that is you, book earlier still, because an outstation booking takes a vehicle and a driver out of the city for several days.

Common Eid routes:

Fuel, tolls and the driver stay are quoted up front as one figure, so there is no negotiation at the other end. See city to city rental.

Practical points for the holiday

  • Traffic is inverted. The city is empty on Eid morning and congested in the evenings as families visit. A driver who knows the city is worth more than usual.
  • Confirm the pickup time, not just the day. Eid mornings start early.
  • Tell us the itinerary. If you are doing four houses across Karachi in one day, the driver can plan the order.
  • Your driver is working the holiday. They are arranged and paid for it in advance. Worth a thought.

Booking

Send your dates on WhatsApp with the number of passengers and whether you are staying in Karachi or travelling. We will tell you what is available and hold it.

Prices do not change for Eid. Availability does, and that is the thing worth acting on early.
